Coaching information with Wakulla County Youth Baseball Association
Our association is under the Babe Ruth Charter with a Board of Directors who administers our team. WCYBA is not a part of Wakulla County Recreation Park.
In order to coach with Wakulla Youth Baseball, you must also submit a background check form with their application that goes to the Wakulla County Recreation Park, who then sends the form for processing.
Wakulla Youth Baseball League OR the Wakulla County Recreation Department receives the background check and results. Our league only obtains rejections, not the reason for the rejection due to confidentiality.
Coaches’ applications are not guaranteed. The process is a first come, first serve, with timestamp and date on application. There are other factors that are considered prior to being a returning coach.
The board will hold a public board meeting where coaches are voted into our league prior to the start of evaluations.
Once the coaches are determined, there will be a mandatory coaches’ meeting prior to the start of evaluations.
Only the head coach and 1 assistant coach are allowed to be the official coaches prior to the draft.
This rule is in place to align with the by-law that states there are only allowed 2 protected players who are immediate family only prior to the draft.
We are one team. We are united together to make our program better as a whole.
